Ferry Kaag-Oud Ade
The pedestrian and bicycle ferry will be in operation daily from July 27 to August 31, 2024, weather permitting. For the month of September, the ferry is intended to operate only on Saturdays and Sundays. This pilot project and the return of the bicycle ferry fulfill a long-standing wish of the residents and visitors of the island of Kaag and the entire municipality of Kaag en Braassem.
Operating Days
- July 27 to August 31, 2024: daily
- September 2024: only Saturday and Sunday
Operating Times
- From Kaag: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, and 16:00 at KaagErvaaring house
- From Oud Ade: 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, and 16:30 at camping 't Haasje

- Departs from Kaag on the hour, from Oud Ade on the half-hour
- First departure at 10:00, last departure at 16:30
- Kaag docking location: KaagErvaring, Julianalaan 26
- Oud Ade docking location: Camping 't Haasje, Boekhorsterweg 22
- Fare: €3.50 per person
Good to know
- Payment can only be made by card.
- The ferry can carry a maximum of 12 people at a time. Please be aware that waiting times may increase during good weather.
- The ferry will not operate in bad weather. In case of doubt, call the skipper (06-14478698).
- It is not possible to take a mobility scooter on the ferry, and cargo bikes are allowed only if there is enough space.
- Use of the ferry is entirely at your own risk.
- The operation of this pilot project is managed by the Kaag Promotion Foundation; Kaag en Braassem Promotion supports communication.
- This is a pilot project for 2024, and the involved parties are exploring the possibilities for continuation after 2024.
